Critique of Economics

Mainstream economics is subject-centred. This subject-centred perspective must be overcome and replaced by a theory of the economic system.

Subject-centred economic theory remains bound to dyadic thinking: subjects have objects at their disposal. Society, however, is always triadic: subjects communicate and cooperate through objects. Dyadic thinking therefore misses the basic operation on which society rests.

Dyadic thinking is useful for explaining economic action (economizing), but not for explaining systems (economies).
